Collections Manager - Dallas

 

Collections Manager will support the financial management and operations of the credit union through maintenance and management of outstanding member obligations to the credit union. Responsible for organizing, planning, directing, and controlling all operations of the collections department. Oversees all collections functions including the control of loan and credit accounts that are late, potentially delinquent, delinquent, or charged off.

 

Position Overview:

 

  • Supervises staff in the collection of all accounts, notes, and bad checks.
  • Supervises repossession of secured property and real estate, and maintenance and sale of secured property.
  • Ensures adherence to collections policies, procedures, state and federal laws, and regulations.
  • Assists in the resolution of difficult and complex member account collection situations.
  • Responsible for collateral, repossessions and the disposition of repossessed Credit Union assets.
  • Performs periodic evaluation of collections policies and procedures and modifies as needed.
  • Ensures that established policies, procedures, and legal requirements are followed. Coordinates activities, ensuring that all subordinate areas of responsibility support Credit Union objectives.
  • Trains, directs, and appraises personnel. Ensures that services are delivered professionally and efficiently. 
  • Writes, mails, and documents delinquency letters and notifications to members according to credit union policies and procedures.
  • Assigns necessary repossession of collateral as designated and approved by management.
  • Arranges for the liquidation of repossessed collateral as designated and approved by management. 
  • Works interactively with legal representation, court administrators, and management to represent the credit union’s interests in member bankruptcy actions.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

 

Prerequisites:

 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of supervisory and progressive collections experience.
  • Knowledge of collections, servicing, foreclosure, bankruptcy procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Understanding of Credit Union lending programs, policies, and default enforcement clauses.
  • Compliance with Federal Bank Secrecy and Money Laundering rules required.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in stressful, high pressure situations.
  • Able to work as a team with other departments.
