IT Consultant

 

Responsible for promoting, coordinating, planning, and performing various information technology activities.  Will also be asked to identify and assist in implementing future or potential services based on credit union needs and trends.

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

  1. Promotes, sell, and deliver credit union security and compliance IT products and services using direct and indirect marketing methods and strategies.
  2. Analyze credit union policies, procedures, and other supporting documentation for adequacy, accuracy and compliance with regulations and established guidelines.
  3. Prepare written reports of findings from analyses of credit union policies, procedures, and other supporting documentation.
  4. Prepare and complete work papers by documenting procedures performed.
  5. Performs the following IT products and services:

o   Develop and / or evaluate credit union IT policies and/or IT plans

o   Perform information security risk assessments

o   Develop and / or evaluate credit union information security programs

o   Perform ATM safety evaluations

o   Perform remote systems maintenance

o   Obtain a CTGA certification and perform TG-3 PIN audits

 

  1. Conduct, evaluate, compile, and deliver network vulnerability assessment tests from the in-house Nessus vulnerability assessment testing system.
  2. Perform follow up contacts with potential clients as needed to successfully receive engagement.
  3. Assume responsibility for building client business relations.
  4. Advise the AVP – IT Consulting   of leads, engagements, success, and activities in the IT area.
  5. Stay informed of trends and changes in compliance with regards to the security and IT trends in federal and state chartered credit unions.
  6. Complete projects as assigned on time.
  7. Assist in developing guidelines for procedures, reporting, descriptions and documentation.

Requirements:

 

  1. Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
  2. Knowledge of computers, telecommunications, and understanding of computer networks, understanding of CU operations and information system needs and trends.
  3. Three years of IT related experience.  Operations and financial institution experience preferred.
  4. Good interpersonal and communication skills.  Solid project, documentation, and management skills, well organized, attentive to detail, creative, self motivated, technical knowledge, ability to train and assist others.
